Every source, with the date it carries and the date we checked it

Fifteen documents across eight jurisdictions and one professional body. Each was fetched directly. Where a page publishes its own “last updated” date, that date is shown next to ours, because these documents span four years and they do not agree with each other about anything except that you have no automatic right to be there.

Currency warning

These documents do not share a vintage, and the spread is four years.

Queensland's procedure is Version 1.4, effective 3 June 2022, and its own listed review date of 12 November 2021 has passed. Its provider fact sheet still refers to the NDIS Commission when it commences at full scheme (1 July 2019 in Queensland). [S7, S8] Tasmania's policy is Version 1.0, 12 May 2023. [S6] Victoria's step-2 guidance was updated 25 March 2026 and its policy 8 July 2025. [S4, S1] Speech Pathology Australia's position statement is a 2014 document with a 2021 addendum. [S14]

Four years separate the oldest from the newest. Check the date on the source before you rely on any line of this site.

Sources we could not retrieve

Northern Territory

education.nt.gov.au's “NDIS Information Package for Service Providers” returns HTTP 403 behind a Cloudflare anti-bot layer, to a scraper and to a plain browser-agent request alike. Re-checked 2 September 2026: still 403.

New South Wales, the department's own provider hub

The NSW external-providers hub named in this project's own source list sits behind the departmental staff login wall. It is not publicly readable, so the NSW picture here is built from two public documents instead: the parent-facing PDF [S9] and the provider Scheme page [S13].

That has a consequence worth stating. NSW's insurance requirement for a provider working outside the Scheme is unestablished. The $20m public liability and $2m professional indemnity figures on this site are the Scheme's eligibility criteria, and the Scheme is optional by the department's own answer. Do not read them as NSW's requirement for everyone. [S13]

Australian Capital Territory

No provider-access procedure located, at either the old address or the new one. The single sentence quoted on the who may ask page is the whole of the published position.

What the sources do not settle

These are gaps we could not close by reading a primary source, not gaps we chose not to fill.

  • The Northern Territory's entire pathway. Source not retrievable.
  • The ACT's entire pathway. No procedure published.
  • NSW's requirements outside the optional Scheme. Hub not public.
  • South Australia's insurance minimums. Both SA sources require public liability and professional indemnity and neither states a dollar figure. [S11, S12] The cells are blank because the number is not published, not because it is zero.
  • Western Australia's professional indemnity figure. WA states its public liability minimum and no PI figure. [S10] WA links an insurance fact sheet we did not fetch; it may settle this.
  • Decision timeframes outside Victoria and Tasmania. Four jurisdictions publish none.
  • Whether a school may charge you a facility fee, outside Victoria and Queensland. Victoria forbids passing licence fees to the participant [S5]; Queensland contemplates fees determined by the principal [S8]; Tasmania mentions a possible facility hire agreement without figures [S6]. NSW, WA and SA say nothing about fees in the pages read.
  • Whether an assistant may deliver the session, outside Tasmania.
  • Telehealth into a classroom, outside Victoria. Only Victoria treats it as a first-class case, with a separate virtual agreement and virtual information sharing deed [S5] and explicit inclusion of therapy delivered virtually during school hours [S1].
  • Catholic and independent schools, entirely. All fifteen sources govern government schools only.
