Who we are
The School Gate is published by AutoLeGen. We sell practice-operations software to allied-health practices. If you want to reach us about anything on this page, use the contact address in the footer of any page on this site.
We are not a government body and this is not a government site. See the terms page for the full statement.
The short version
We collect what you type into the form on the contact page, plus some low-detail information about which pages get read. We do not record your screen, we do not capture what you type into a field unless you submit the form, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell anything to anybody. One third party sees your IP address when a page loads, and that is the typeface service, described below.
What we collect when you use the form
If you complete the form on the contact page we receive: your name and email address; your phone number and practice name if you choose to give them; and your answers to five multiple-choice questions about your practice: how many people work in it, how long it has been operating, whether you have a website, the problem that brought you here, and where your clinical notes live. The last of those five is optional and you can skip it.
We also receive some technical information alongside your answers: which page you were on, your time zone, and any campaign tags in the link you followed. The form carries two anti-spam fields, a hidden field that people never see and a timestamp of when the page loaded, so we can tell a person apart from a bot.
We do not ask for and do not want information about a student, a family, a school or a clinical matter. Please do not put any into the form.
Why we collect it
To send you the one-pager you asked for, and to work out whether the software we build is any use to your practice. If it is, we may contact you about it. If you would rather we did not, say so in reply to any message and we will stop.
Where your information goes
Your submission goes to our customer-relationship system, where our team can see it. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. We share it only with the service providers that run our CRM and email on our behalf, and only so they can provide those services to us.
Two of those providers store data in the United States: the system that receives the form and the analytics service described below. So the information you give us is held overseas as well as here.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand which pages get read and where people give up. It records page views and a small set of events: the one-pager band coming into view, a call-to-action being clicked, the form being started, and whether a submission succeeded or failed. Your five multiple-choice answers are attached to that event data. PostHog stores it in the United States.
We have deliberately turned off two things PostHog can do: session recording, so there is no video of your screen, ever, and never on a page with a form; and input autocapture, so we do not collect what you type into a field unless you submit the form.
Fonts, and the one request this site makes to anyone else
The typefaces on this site are Archivo, Petrona and Martian Mono, and they are served by Google Fonts rather than from our own server. That means your IP address and your browser details reach Google every time a page loads, before you have clicked anything. We do not send Google anything else about you, we get nothing back about you, and Google's use of that information is governed by its own privacy policy rather than this one.
We are telling you this because it is the only request this site makes to a third party for anything on the page. There are no advertising scripts, no embedded videos, no social widgets, no chat box and no tracking pixels.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages at through-the-school-gate-new-miterprise.pages.dev, which keeps standard web-server request logs.
Cookies and local storage
PostHog sets an identifier in your browser so that repeat visits are not counted as new people. That is the only identifier this site stores. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
How long we keep it
Form submissions stay in our CRM for as long as we might reasonably be in touch with you about practice software, and are then deleted. Analytics event data is kept in aggregate. If you want your submission deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email the contact address in the footer and we will do it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
This site is written for practice owners and clinicians. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this page we will change the date at the top.
